Aluminum treasure hunt
A trail of aluminum was set out through the forest. The Beavers went on a journey to collect all the aluminum and reach the finish line of the treasure hunt. We had to jump and maneuver through plants in order to collect all of it. Once we arrived at the finish line, there was a real-life Pac-man course. The beavers had to collect as many coins as possible before getting tagged by the ghosts.
Water, Fire, Sponge
This week, the Beavers went on a hike through the forest. They walked through tall grass and climbed over large, fallen tree trunks. Then they arrived at a big open field. The Beavers were divided over two groups, and both were on a mission to build a big fort out of sticks. After that, the Beavers had to hide a scarf in their fort. Each of them was then given a card with either fire, water or a sponge. Water beats fire, fire beats sponge and sponge beats water. If the Beavers had tagged each other, they had to show their card. If you were beaten, you had to go back to your fort and get a new card. You won by finding the other group’s scarf and bringing it back to your own fort. After this exciting game, the Beavers roasted marschmallows above a fire and happily ate them.
Smuggling coins and baking bread
Today the beavers went into the forest with a bag of golden coins. The goal was to move as much coins from one side to the other. The beavers were divided into two groups, the smugglers and the taggers. If a smuggler got tagged, he had to give his coin to the other team. After this game the beavers baked their own bread above a campfire. The bread was than devoured with a lot of joy.
An adventure after the summer
This week the Beavers went on an adventure at the Karpendonkse plas. We played a variant of tag in which the beavers have to run from hoop to hoop without getting tagged. After that we had a lot of fun with protecting and attacking blocks during blocksfootball. At the end of our adventure we played in the playground.
