This year, we once again had a grand Christmas spectacle. We started in the afternoon with a large joint opening where everyone received a Christmas tree with 7 white baubles. For each completed game, a bauble was colored in. In the first game, we roasted cheese with ham and marshmallows over the fire. In the second and third games, two teams competed against each other with NERF guns, trying to shoot each other as many times as possible. In the fourth game, each group set up a part of an obstacle course, which everyone completed at the end. In the fifth game, we made Christmas arrangements. Everyone received a floral foam block and could place beautiful branches and leaves in it. They could also decorate their block with colored sticks, stickers, and ribbons. In the sixth game, we made candles, and in the seventh game, we played a Christmas tree relay. It was a really fun Christmas spectacle!!

The anniversary year of 110 years of Scouting GFB couldn’t have started any better!
On Friday evening, the Scouts and Explorers gathered full of energy. As dusk settled in, the tents were pitched – though the very last pegs were hammered into the ground only once darkness had fallen. An exciting start to an even more exciting weekend! Later that night, it was time for the commando drop: a thrilling game where participants had to find their way from point A to point B without being seen.

Saturday morning dawned bright and sunny. The Beavers and Cubs joined in, and the opening was celebrated with a festive muffin, of course decorated with the special 110-year logo. Afterwards, everyone took part in a lively roleplay featuring iconic figures from GFB’s rich history – from Frits Philips (honorary member of our group) to other historical characters who crossed our path.

The day ended, as tradition dictates, with a very special moment: the “flying up” of our GFB members moving on to the next age section. A day full of adventure, history, and above all: 110% scouting fun!

🎉 It’s Finally Here: Our New Website!

After 15 years of loyal service, our old website has officially passed the torch. While it served us well, it was definitely time for a fresh new look.
