Community Service Internship
🌟 Community Service Internships at Scouting Graaf Folke Bernadotte
At Scouting Graaf Folke Bernadotte Group 2, we’re committed to supporting the growth and development of youth. Community service internships (maatschappelijke stages) align perfectly with this mission. To make it even more fun and accessible, Scouting Nederland has introduced a buddy system!

🤝 The Buddy System – How It Works
It’s simple: a student who needs to complete a community service internship teams up with a classmate—their buddy.
- Half of the internship is completed at one person’s club or Scouting group.
- The other half is done at the buddy’s club or Scouting group.
This way, both students get to experience two different organizations and broaden their horizons.
âś… Is the Buddy System Officially Recognized?
Yes! The Dutch State Secretary has officially endorsed the buddy system as a fantastic initiative. Working in pairs adds real value for many young people. By participating in each other’s clubs, students are guaranteed to discover new social organizations and experiences.
đź’ˇ Why We Support the Buddy System
Community service internships are a natural fit with the core mission of Scouting Nederland: helping young people grow by being active together, having fun, and learning responsibility. We know how demanding volunteer work can be, so the buddy system was designed to make it easier for organizations without professional staff to participate. And it’s not just for the 10,000 Scouts aged 13–16—it’s open to all young people who are members of a club or association.
